Team news ahead of Rangers - Ben Davies update
Thu 21 July 2022, 17:00|Tottenham Hotspur
Antonio Conte is hopeful Ben Davies will be fit for the big kick-off on 6 August after picking up an injury against Sevilla in Korea on Saturday.
The ever-reliable defender landed awkwardly on his ankle after an aerial challenge late in the 1-1 draw at the Suwon World Cup Stadium. He initially came back on after treatment but only lasted another couple of minutes before limping out of the action.
Speaking between training sessions on Thursday, ahead of our return to pre-season action against Rangers at Ibrox on Saturday - watch exclusively on SPURSPLAY - Antonio told us: “We are continuing to work, and work well.
“At this moment, no big problems, all the players are working except for Ben Davies, because he has a little problem with his ankle. I hope for the start of the season, for the first game, for him to recover. Yves Bissouma and Fraser Forster are now coming back to the training sessions (after illness), and everything is going okay.”
We take on Southampton on the first weekend of the 2022/23 Premier League campaign at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday 6 August (3pm).
Before that, and after Rangers, we travel to Israel to face AS Roma in the I-Tech Cup on Saturday 30 July (7.15pm) - again, live and exclusive on SPURSPLAY.
