More history was made at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Friday evening as legendary rock band Guns N’ Roses played the first-ever music concert at our new home.

Tens of thousands of fans descended on N17 to soak in the atmosphere as the world-famous American group, led by iconic frontman Axl Rose, performed a terrific set, including favourites like Welcome to the Jungle, Live and Let Die, November Rain and Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door.

There was even a surprise appearance from country sensation Carrie Underwood, who joined in a rendition of Sweet Child o’ Mine and the encore performance of Paradise City.

Rose, joined as always by lead guitarist Slash, bassist Duff McKagan, keyboardists Dizzy Reed and Melissa Reese, rhythm guitarist Richard Fortus and drummer Frank Ferrer, enjoyed a wild reception as he sang from a specially-constructed stage in front of the North Stand.

It was the first of a two-night appearance from the group, with their second concert slated for Saturday before Lady Gaga arrives in north London at the end of the month.

In addition to our football matches, the stadium has now hosted NFL, boxing, rugby union, rugby league and live music, truly showcasing the innovation and versatility of our world-class home.
