Eric Dier is back for our huge Premier League clash against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday (4.30pm).
The defender returns to the fold after missing our last four matches through illness and injury. However, Antonio Conte reported ‘a couple of problems’ after our thrilling 3-2 win at Leicester on Wednesday evening, and a decision will be made on those players on Saturday.
“We are happy because Eric, today, had a good training session with us and he’s fit, 100 per cent,” Antonio told us after training on Friday. “Then, after the game against Leicester, we have a couple of problems with injuries. We are trying to understand if these two players will be available for the game against Chelsea, or not. Tomorrow will be decisive on this.”
There were also updates from Antonio on Cristian Romero and Heung-Min Son.
On Cristian, Antonio said: “Cristian is almost ready to come back. For sure, after the international break, he can play, and that’s good news for us. Also, to underline, this injury gave the possibility to see great improvements from Davinson Sanchez, Japhet Tanganga, Ben Davies... we had a problem one end, but we’ve seen great improvement.”
Speaking about Sonny in his press conference, Antonio said: “Sonny is not available, not yet. We have to wait. He’s recovering very well. I’m sure we will have to wait until after the international break.”
