Leicester v Spurs – how to watch, team news, key information

Wed 19 January 2022, 01:17|Tottenham Hotspur

The first of our recently-postponed Premier League matches takes place on Wednesday evening as we travel to the King Power Stadium to take on Leicester City (kick-off 7.30pm UK).

Originally scheduled to have been played in December, the match finally goes ahead with three vital points up for grabs.

Leicester have seen a number of other games postponed of late – their last top-flight outing was a 1-0 home win over Liverpool on 28 December – while our scheduled north London derby at the weekend also fell by the wayside, meaning we haven’t played a league game since the late win at Watford on New Year’s Day.

Owing to the backlog of fixtures, ourselves and Leicester have at least two games in hand on every other side in the top 10, with both teams looking to capitalise on Wednesday.

Here’s all you need to know ahead of our return to action...

How can I watch the game?

Wednesday’s match is being televised live in the UK on BT Sport 2, kick-off 7.30pm, while talkSPORT 2 will be offering live radio commentary.

You can also follow every kick of the action wherever you are in the world via our live Match Centre here on the website and app, complete with live text and audio commentary, goal alerts and stats.

Alternatively, join our official Watchalong on Twitch with hosts Rebekah and Matt from 6.30pm UK.

If you’re following us from outside the UK, check out the overseas broadcast listings to see if the match is being shown in your area.

How will the teams line up?

Steven Bergwijn is back from a calf injury for us but Eric Dier and Heung-Min Son both miss out with muscular problems.

Cristian Romero is closing in on fitness after his hamstring injury.

For Leicester, defender James Justin has recovered from a knee injury and is expected to be part of their matchday squad for the first time in 11 months.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Luke Thomas, Çağlar Söyüncü, Patson Daka, Boubakary Soumaré and Ayoze Pérez may also return, but Timothy Castagne is sidelined after a thigh operation.

Who is the referee and what colours will the teams be playing in?

Jonathan Moss will referee the match at the King Power Stadium, assisted by Marc Perry and Timothy Wood.

The fourth official will be Robert Jones, with VAR duties being looked after by Simon Hooper and assistant Mark Scholes.

We’ll be playing in Lilywhite shirts, navy blue shorts and white socks, while Leicester will play in blue shirts, white shorts and blue socks.

Ours and Leicester’s goalkeeper kits will be green and black respectively.

What will the weather be like?

It’s forecast to stay dry in Leicester on Wednesday evening, with temperatures at around four degrees.
