We are delighted to announce the signing of Eveliina Summanen, subject to work permit and international clearance.
The central midfielder joins us on a contract until 2023 with the option to extend for a further year and will wear the number 24 shirt.
Born in Lappeenranta, Summanen began her career with her hometown team PEPO where she progressed through the youth system before joining top-flight side, HJK in 2016.
She made her senior debut in April, 2016 and went on to feature 63 times, making 59 starts and scoring three goals over the next three seasons.
In 2019, the 23-year-old made the switch from Kansanallinen Liiga to her neighbouring country, Sweden to join KIF Örebro. She adapted quickly to life in Damallsvenskan, starting all 21 of her appearances.
In January 2020, Kristianstads DFF acquired her services and she made 43 starts over the following two seasons finding the back of the net five times.
A key part of the Finland national team, she made her senior debut in June, 2017 against China and has earned 34 caps for her country.
She was a permanent fixture throughout her country’s 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying campaign and successful qualification for the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 tournament in July.
The move sees her link up with her national teammate, goalkeeper Tinja-Riikka Korpela.
