We booked our place in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Saturday night with a commanding 3-1 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion.
Against a side who have impressed this season in the Premier League, we made a quick and purposeful start with Harry Kane curling deliciously into the top right-hand corner of the net on 13 minutes. Just 11 minutes later, we were two to the good as Emerson Royal’s cross deflected in off Solly March.
The visitors did get themselves back into the tie after the break with Yves Bissouma’s strike diverting in off the back of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg on 63 minutes, but we were quick to respond as, just three minutes later, we restored our two-goal advantage to thwart the Seagulls’ fightback. Kane was the man to find the target once more, turning the ball in from close range, although our number 10 was grateful to his fellow forward Heung-Min Son, whose speed and dynamism on the break played a huge part in creating the opportunity.
