Harry and Sonny set a new Premier League goal combination record

Sun 27 February 2022, 09:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son toppled Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard’s Premier League record of 36 goal combinations with their 37th goal-assist in our 4-0 win at Leeds United on Saturday.

This time, Harry provided the assist with one of his now trademark 'quarterback' passes from a deeper position into Sonny's run, and the South Korea did the rest, taking the ball superbly in his stride before dispatching past Illay Meslier to put the icing on the cake of a fine performance at Elland Road.

Together since Sonny's arrival from Bayer Leverkusen at the start of the 2015/16 season, the pair racked up a Premier League record 14 combinations in a season in 2020/21 to move to 34, just two behind Drogba and Lampard.

They moved to 35 in our 3-2 win at Newcastle when Harry crossed for Sonny to tap home, equalled the record in our thrilling 3-2 win at Manchester City when Harry turned home Sonny's cross at the Etihad, and now they've gone one better to set a new mark of 37.
