With the group stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar now complete, eight of our initial 12 participating players at the tournament are getting set for action in the round of 16.

England’s Harry Kane and Eric Dier, France’s Hugo Lloris, South Korea’s Heung-Min Son, Brazil’s Richarlison, Croatia’s Ivan Perisic, Argentina’s Cristian Romero and Senegal’s Pape Matar Sarr have all qualified from their respective groups.

However, there was agony for Ben Davies and on-loan Joe Rodon of Wales, plus Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg of Denmark and Rodrigo Bentancur of Uruguay, all of whom missed out on a place in the next round after finishing outside the top two in their groups.

Unfortunately, not everyone will be able to progress to the quarter-finals, given how there are two different games in the round of 16 pitting our players against one another.

On Saturday, Harry and Eric’s England face Pape’s Senegal, before Richarlison and Son go head-to-head when Brazil meet South Korea on Sunday.

Here’s a run-down of all the round of 16 fixtures involving our players over the next few days (all kick-off times are UK)...
