We’re counting down the hours to Christmas Day, so it feels like the perfect time for the next instalment of 'we ask the players…'
And the (obvious) question as we wait for Santa is - what is your favourite all-time Christmas present?
Eric Dier
“I remember my parents gave my brothers and I a quad bike when we were really young, something for all three of us to share, a little petrol one. I must have been about nine or 10. That was the one.”
Matt Doherty
“I remember growing up, I used to love wrestling. I couldn’t watch the Summer Slams for whatever reason, they were on whatever channel at the time, but my sister used to tape it, and I used to get those video tapes at Christmas and was able to watch it all. That was so, so exciting. What era? We’re talking about Kane, Triple H, The Rock, The Hardy Boyz, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Hurricane, William Regal, The Dudley Boyz. I was proper into it.”
Oliver Skipp
“Do you remember Scalextric, the racing set? It has to be that. I got that when I was about 10.”
Davinson Sanchez
“I going to say straight away, a football. A classic, white with black patches. I remember I was seven, eight, going to my bed and keeping it with me, falling asleep and waking up with that football in my hands. It was my dream to play football. What I will say though, now, and every year, the best present we can give to everybody, every Christmas, is to wish for good health.”
Heung-Min Son
“It has to be a pair of football boots. I was probably 11 or 12.”
Yves Bissouma
“It was a bike. I was about eight. Did I crash on it? Yes, of course!”
Lucas Moura
“A football, of course, back home in Brazil. I was five-years-old. As a kid, that was the best present you could ever get.”
Clement Lenglet
“That’s a difficult one... maybe, a PlayStation. I think it was PlayStation 3, a big, big present when I was young. I remember I also had Pro Evolution Soccer, after that, I played FIFA.”
Fraser Forster
“A football, simple as that.”
Dejan Kulusevski
“Honestly, I remember one thing. I was young, and I got the new FIFA for the PlayStation. I will never forget that one. I was so happy.”
