Antonio Conte has given us an update on the fitness of Ben Davies, Richarlison and Rodrigo Bentancur after their exploits at the World Cup.
All three returned from Qatar with injury. Both Ben and Rodrigo were forced off early in Wales and Uruguay’s respective final group matches - Ben after 59 minutes of the Dragons’ 3-0 loss against England on 29 November, Rodrigo after 34 minutes of Uruguay’s 2-0 win against Ghana om 2 December.
Richarlison, meanwhile, picked up a hamstring injury six minutes from the end of Brazil’s quarter-final loss against Croatia on 9 December.
Antonio reported that Ben was okay and training again, Rodrigo was set to be available for our New Year’s Day home clash against Villa while Richy was due to undergo an MRI scan today.
Speaking to SPURSPLAY at Hotspur Way today, Antonio told us: “Ben Davies is okay and started to work with us last week. He has recovered.
“Rodrigo has started to work. I think that he’s going to be good for the game against Aston Villa. For Richy, tomorrow he’s going to have an MRI (scan) to know very well the importance of the injury. After tomorrow we will see very well the time he needs to recover.”
