Ledley gets into the festive spirit at our Winter Family Fun Day!

Thu 22 December 2022, 17:45|Tottenham Hotspur

Our legendary former skipper Ledley King today joined families from across the local area at the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation’s Winter Family Fun Day.

Attendees got into the festive spirit at the N17 Arena taking part in a range of activities including Christmas arts and crafts, a winter treasure hunt, Santa’s grotto and football and multi-sports activities.

There was also live music from DJ’s as well as a range of street food on offer provided by local businesses.

After making his special guest appearance, Club Ambassador Ledley said: “It was nice to see so many families from our community having fun and getting in the Christmas spirit today. Christmas can be a challenging time for many, so it’s great to see the Club putting on these free events and activities to help keep young people active and entertained.”

The Club has been delivering a range of free activities for local young people and families during the run up to Christmas.

Led by the Club’s Foundation staff, young people have been able to come along to Duke’s Aldridge Academy and take part in a range of football and multi-sports activities, as well as enjoying a free hot lunch.

Supporting our local community this Christmas

Our free holiday activities form part of the wider support the Club is providing for its local community ahead of Christmas.

  • Our Men’s and Women’s First Team players have been handing out Christmas presents on behalf of the Club on children’s wards at our local hospitals.
  • Ledley King turned on the Christmas lights at Tottenham Winter Festival as the Club showed its support for local businesses on the day - offering a special discount on retail and Visitor Attractions to those who downloaded the Buy Haringey app.
  • Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg made a special Christmas delivery of essential items donated by the Club to Tottenham Foodbank earlier this week.
  • Proceeds from the ticket sales to last night’s exhibition match against OGC Nice at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium are being donated to our local foodbanks, including London Academy of Excellence Tottenham’s Festive Foodbank, established at the Club-sponsored Sixth Form to collect items for those in-need within the school community. The Festive Foodbank also received a special pre-Christmas visit from the Club’s Academy players who delivered food items they had been collecting.
  • As part of his ongoing work with the Club’s Foundation, Jermain Defoe met with local care leavers at Haringey Council’s headquarters to hand out Christmas presents.
  • Ledley King made deliveries of Christmas presents to Somerford Grove Adventure Playground, a facility located a stone’s throw from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and to the Local Buyers Club Winter Toy Appeal.
