Jermain Defoe joins Indonesia Spurs to celebrate 400 Official Supporters’ Clubs milestone!

We are excited to have recently welcomed 25 new Official Supporters Clubs from Indonesia into our Spurs family - taking our total number of clubs worldwide to an incredible 413.
To celebrate surpassing the 400-club milestone, Club Ambassador Jermain Defoe surprised members of our new Indonesia clubs when he joined a video call to take part in a Q&A about his career.
The fans, representing cities and regions across Indonesia, were left stunned when one of their all-time favourite Spurs players appeared and answered questions on his memorable five goals against Wigan in 2009 at White Hart Lane, his excitement around returning to Spurs and his favourite goal of all time.
Jermain, who scored 143 goals during his Spurs career and now coaches in the Club’s Academy following his retirement from playing earlier this year, was able to thank the members for their support and the importance to players of having a global following.
Our fanbase in Indonesia is growing rapidly, with Official Supporters’ Clubs now in Bandaceh, Medan, Jambi, Palembang, Bandar Lampung, Jakarta, Tangerang, Depok, Bekasi, Bogor, Sukabumi, Tasikmalaya, Garut, Bandung, Cirebon, Jogjakarta, Semarang, Solo, Purwokerto, Surabaya, Malang, Bali, Makassar, Samarinda and Pontianak.
Other new Official Supporters’ Clubs include Uganda Spurs, Delaware Spurs, Beaumont Spurs, Malibu Spurs, Chelmsford Spurs, Beaumont Spurs, EL Paso TX Spurs, Heidelberg Spurs, Lincolnshire Spurs and Sheffield and Doncaster Spurs.
Darma Ananda Putra, Chairman of Indonesia Spurs Official Supporters Club, said: “On behalf of everyone at Indonesia Spurs, I want to say a huge thank you to the Club for organising such a great surprise. Jermain Defoe is one of our all-time Spurs heroes so having the chance to meet and speak with him today was a brilliant experience.”
Speaking after the call, Jermain said: “There’s nothing better, whether it’s as a player or a coach, to see the support we have across the globe. On behalf of all the players and everyone at the Club, thank you to all our fantastic Official Supporters Clubs for being such great fans and for supporting us from far away - it means the world.”
