We won our first group game 2-1 against Reading in October, and beat Coventry United 5-1 in November.
Southampton’s story so far
Founded in 2017, Southampton won promotion from the FA Women’s National League South last season and are now playing in the FA Women’s Championship for the first time in their history.
Since the 2017/18 season, Southampton have won three league titles to rise through the divisions rapidly.
This season, they’ve got off to a good start in the Championship. At the time of writing, Southampton are fourth in the second tier with five wins, four draws and just one defeat from 10 league games. They have 19 points and are just two behind league leaders London City Lionesses.
However, their last win came against Coventry United at the start of November. Since then, they’ve drawn to Blackburn Rovers and London City in the league, and lost to Reading and Bristol City in the Conti Cup and Vitality Women’s FA Cup respectively.
Match officials
Stacey Fullbacks has been appointed to take charge of Sunday’s game, Ella Broad and Benjamin Duffill her assistants and Stacey Pearson the fourth official.
