Welcome back to our new series for 2022/23 - 1 from 30 - as we continue to mark 30 years of the Premier League.

English football's new dawn kicked-off on the weekend of 15/16 August, 1992 as the FA Premier League replaced Barclays League Division One, ending a structure of Division One-Four that had been in place since 1958. Thirty years on, the Premier League is amongst the most watched and most valuable sporting leagues in the world.

In this series, we're featuring a match from those 30 years that corresponds with our next fixture - next up, as it's Christmas, we've dipped into our Boxing Day archive and recall a special day for Harry Kane againstg Southampton at Wembley on Boxing Day, 2017...

Spurs 5-2 Southampton - 26 December, 2017

Three presents for Harry Kane in one memorable Boxing Day at Wembley in 2017 - three goals, three points, and a Premier League record.

Harry needed one goal to topple Alan Shearer's record of 36 in the Premier League in a calendar year - Shearer achieved the feat for Blackburn in 1995 - and took just 22 minutes, heading home Christian Eriksen's cross from close range. Harry went on to extend his mark to 39 with, incredibly, his eighth hat-trick of the year.

Harry doubled our lead from close range on 39 minutes before a quickfire one-two from Dele and Heung-Min Son saw us out of sight five minutes into the second half.

Sofiane Boufal pulled a goal back but Harry soon completed his hat-trick, a textbook finish, clipping over his now team-mate Fraser Forster for 5-1. Dusan Tadic made it 5-2 late on.

Spurs: Lloris, Aurier, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Rose, Dier, Dembele (Sissoko), Eriksen, Dele (Winks), Son (Lamela), Kane.
