Antonio Conte will wait for fitness reports on Cristian Romero and Oliver Skipp ahead of Wednesday night’s derby at West Ham after the pair returned to training with the squad on Monday.
Defender ‘Cuti’ has missed our last two games against Wolves and Forest with an adductor issue while midfielder ‘Skippy’ has been out since the latter stages of pre-season with a foot injury
Asked for an update on the pair at his pre-match press conference on Monday, Antonio said: “Cristian Romero and Skippy, today they had a training session with us, for sure, we have to wait now, to see if they are completely recovered, but this is a good sign for us and for the players.”
Antonio also had an update on Lucas Moura and Bryan Gil, who were both sidelined for our 2-0 win at Forest on Sunday.
“Lucas has inflammation in his tendon,” he added. “I hope he recovers soon. For sure, when I was a player, I had a lot of pain in my tendon and you know very well that an inflamed tendon doesn’t finish in only one week, two weeks. We hope he’s with us soon. Gil is not available, but in two or three days he will start to work again.”
