Fri 05 August 2022, 23:58|Tottenham Hotspur

The 2022/23 season is upon us! We welcome Southampton to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday afternoon (3pm UK) to get the new campaign underway.

Here’s all the information you need to know ahead of the match...

How can I watch the game?

Saturday’s match has not been selected for live television coverage in the UK, but there are still plenty of ways to keep up-to-date with everything that’s happening on the pitch, whether you’re coming to the game in person or not.

Before the game, tune in to SPURSPLAY, our new and exclusive home for video content, to catch our popular N17 Live pre-match show, coming to you live from inside Tottenham Hotspur Stadium from the earlier time of 2pm UK.

During the match itself, which begins at 3pm UK, you can follow all the action via our new-look Match Centre here on tottenhamhotspur.com and the Spurs Official app, where you’ll find minute-by-minute text and audio commentary, goal alerts, stats and much more. We’ve also got you covered with live updates across our social media platforms, while there’s also the option of joining our official Watchalong on Twitch.

National radio commentary will be also available on talkSPORT 2, with worldwide broadcast listings available here if you’re following us from outside the UK.

We’ll have a short video highlights package for you on Club channels from two hours after the full-time whistle, with a full match replay available on SPURSPLAY from midnight on Sunday morning.

What is the team news?

Oliver Skipp misses out for us with a foot injury, while new signing Richarlison serves a one-match suspension.

Antonio Conte was asked in his press conference on Thursday if Yves Bissouma was a doubt.

He replied: “At this moment, we only have one player who will miss Southampton, and that is Skipp. About Bissouma, we have another day to check his physical condition, nothing serious, but I don't want to take any risks. Tomorrow, we have another training session to make an evaluation about him.”

Tino Livramento is long-term absentee for Southampton, while Theo Walcott and Nathan Tella have also been ruled out.

What colours will the teams be playing in?

We’ll be wearing our new 2022/23 home kit, featuring Lilywhite shirts, navy blue shorts and white socks, all with volt green detailing. Our goalkeeper will play in all yellow.

Southampton arrive with their new dark green third kit, with their keeper in purple.

Who is the referee?

Andre Marriner takes charge of the game on Saturday, assisted by Simon Long and Richard West.

Tim Robinson serves as the fourth official, with Paul Tierney as the VAR and Natalie Aspinall as assistant VAR.

What will the weather conditions be like?

The forecast shows a bright and sunny afternoon in north London on Saturday, with temperatures at around 23 degrees.

How can I get the matchday programme?

Summer signing Ivan Perisic stars on the front cover of our new-look official matchday programme for the new season. Fans attending the game will be able to pick up a copy at a number of programme booths outside the stadium, in the Spurs Shop at the Tottenham Experience or at the Tap Inn bars inside the stadium, or you can order online here for delivery direct to your door.
