Harry Kane:
10 years in the Premier League

'He's one of our own...'
Academy graduate Harry Kane had already tasted first team action when he made his Premier League debut off the bench at St James' Park, Newcastle, at the age of 19 on 18 August, 2012.
A year earlier, still only 18, he made his debut against Hearts in the UEFA Cup, August, 2011, and scored his first goal for us in the same competition at Shamrock Rovers that December.
Who knew what was to follow that first Premier League appearance?
Ten years and 284 matches (281 for us, three for Norwich City) later, the England captain is up to 184 goals in the Premier League, level with City legend Sergio Aguero, and fourth equal in the league's all-time goalscorers.
Here's how he did it...
Debut - 18.08.12
Newcastle 2-1 Spurs
Andre Villas Boas started with Jermain Defoe as a lone striker, and Harry found himself on the bench with Rafa van der Vaart as the 2012/13 season opened at St James' Park.
By the time he came on for his debut, we were 2-1 down. All the goals came in the second half - Defoe levelled Demba Ba's opener, but Hatem Ben Arfa's penalty secured victory for the Toon.
In Harry's words...
"Newcastle away, fantastic stadium… I remember being on the bench and being so excited to hopefully get on the pitch.
"Andre Villas Boas was the manager. I can’t remember the exact time, but I got the nod that I was coming on. I think we were 2-1 down at the time.
"I was excited to get on and try to make a difference. It didn’t quite work out that way, but a great milestone in my career to play in the Premier League at that age, and I was excited for what was to come."

First PL start for us, first PL goal - 07.04.14
Spurs 5-1 Sunderland

In Harry's words...
"I had to be patient, had to wait for my opportunities and Tim (Sherwood) gave me that towards the end of that (2013/14) season. Scoring my first goal in the Premier League was great, because you then know you can do it in any competition in the world. Then scoring a couple more in the next two games really gave me loads of confidence."
Belief v Blues - 01.01.15
Spurs 5-3 Chelsea
Harry scored twice in a New Year's Day thriller against Chelsea at the Lane as we kicked-off 2015 with a 5-3 victory against the champions elect.
There's no underestimating the impact Harry's display had on the striker, then 21.
Jose Mourinho's team were flying high when they arrived in N17, top of the Premier League, just one defeat in 19, just 14 goals conceded. They eventually took the title by eight points from City. We were also taking shape, and would finish fifth in 2014/15.
We trailed 1-0 on the day, as well, but stormed back to lead 3-1 by the break and then 4-1. Harry drilled home the equaliser from 25 yards, Danny Rose put us ahead, Andros Townsend made it 3-1 and Harry's clever finish put us 4-1 up. Eden Hazard replied, Nacer Chadli made it 5-2 and John Terry completed the scoring for the visitors.
In Harry's words...
"That was a big one for me. To play that game, get Man of the Match, score two goals, two assists against a team who would be Premier League champions, that settled it in my head that I could do it against any opponent, any team. That gave me all the self-belief I needed. That was an important game, a fantastic night at White Hart Lane. That set the balling rolling in terms of, ‘okay, let’s go and do it against anyone."

Derby dreaming - 07.02.15
Spurs 2-1 Arsenal

In Harry's words...
"The header against Arsenal... that was my first north London derby. That was an incredible feeling. I was so excited to play in my first one, at White Hart Lane. We went 1-0 down, I then scored the equaliser and then I remember the header, 86th minute, one of best headers I've scored in my career, to be honest. To then see the stadium erupt, all the Spurs fans going mad, that's a moment I'll never forget."

Harry joins the '100 Club' - 04.02.18
Liverpool 2-2 Spurs

In Harry's words...
"The 100 Club in the Premier League is such a well-known thing around football, and that was a crazy game to score my 100th in! It was a nice milestone to hit, for sure, but I’ve always said after all the records, all the milestones, take it in for a short moment but then it’s about what else I can do, how many more I can get. That’s always been the case and still the case now. It’s about enjoying the moments but also keeping an eye on what you can keep doing in the future."
30 up - 13.05.18
Spurs 5-4 Leicester
Another day, another record.
We went into the final game of the 2017/18 with Champions League football secured again, sitting third in the Premier League.
Harry stepped out at Wembley on 28 league goals. The last player to hit 30 league goals in a season for us was Clive Allen, 31 years earlier, 33 league goals in his amazing 49 goals in 1986/87, a record that stands to this day.
In an absolute belter, Jamie Vardy opened the scoring, Harry levelled but then the visitors stormed into a 3-1 lead thanks to Riyad Marhez and Kelechi Iheanacho's stunner two minutes into the second half.
Erik Lamela inspired our comeback with three goals in 11 minutes - the Argentine scoring twice, plus an own goal - but the Foxes wouldn't go away, and Vardy made it 4-4 soon after.
The stage was set for Harry to finish the season, and he delivered in style, picking the ball up 30 yards out, completely outfoxing Hamza Choudhury by feigning to shoot before curling into the far corner from 20 yards for the final 5-4 scoreline - and goal number 30 in the Premier League in 2017/18.
In Harry's words...
Speaking at the time, Harry said: "It was nice to get a couple of goals and get to that 30 mark. I’m proud of that, definitely, especially when you think of the players who have set these records. For me, it’s my fourth season in the Premier League playing regularly for Spurs and it’s been amazing. It’s been a very good season but there is always room for improvement."

150 up - and the NLD record!

Into our top 3
23.11.19
Harry scored in a 3-2 win at West Ham - Jose Mourinho's first game - to move ahead of Martin Chivers and into the Club's top three all-time scorers with 175 in all competitions.

150 up!
08.11.20
A late winner - a header from Matt Doherty's cross - and the only goal at at West Brom marked Harry's 150th goal in the Premier League.

King of the NLD!
06.12.20
Another magnificent strike in a 2-0 win against Arsenal, smashing Heung-Min Son's reverse pass into the roof of the net, meant Harry became the all-time top scorer in the north London derby with 11 (he's now up to 13).
Golden x 3 - 23.05.21
Leicester City 2-4 Spurs

In Harry's words...
"It felt really good to come away with the Golden Boot and the Playmaker award, and obviously big thanks to my team-mates, all the staff and coaches, Jose (Mourinho) and Ryan (Mason). It's been a tough season for everyone as a team but for me personally, it's nice to come away with a couple of awards, and great to get a win as well."

Guess what? More records!

Harry and Sonny smash it!
26.02.22
For a change, not a Harry goal, but an assist made the headlines at Elland Road. Already on the scoresheet in our 4-0 win, Harry dropped deep to deliver one of the passes of the season, beautifully controlled and converted by Heung-Min Son. That took the pair to 37 goal combinations - a Premier League record, overtaking Didier Drogba/Frank Lampard. The deadly due are now up to 41.

Record PL away scorer
16.03.22
When Harry raced onto Rodrigo Bentancur's perfect through ball and finished in typical style to complete a 2-0 win at Brighton last season, it took him to 95 away goals - another Premier League record. He also climbed into the Premier League's top five all-time goalscoring list on 178.

10 years on - 18.08.22
So, here we are. 10 years on, 10 years after that 19-year-old stepped off the bench at St James' Park.
Since that day, Harry has made 284 appearances in the Premier League - 281 for us, three for Norwich - and scored 184 goals.
His latest goal, a late, late header to secure a 2-2 draw at Chelsea on Sunday, took him level with Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero, and fourth-equal in the Premier League's all-time standings.
He's now 16 goals away from becoming only the third player to score 200 Premier League goals behind Alan Shearer (260) and Wayne Rooney (208).
That's not all though...
Harry is also now on 249 goals for Spurs in 388 appearances in all competitions. Touching wood, he will soon become only the second player to score 250 goals for us in all competitions. The only other player to do that is, of course, the late, great Jimmy Greaves, our all-time top goalscorer on 266.
Harry went into the 2022/23 season on 248 goals for Spurs, 18 behind Greavsie, 19 away from overtaking him and becoming our all-time top goalscorer. At this point, it's worth noting that the fewest amount of goals Harry has scored in a season, in all competitions, is 24.
Don't forget, Harry, England captain, became only the second player to score 50 goals for the Three Lions in June, and is four away from overtaking Wayne Rooney's 53 to become England's all-time top goalscorer.
10 years down the line, this could be the most memorable yet...
