We have been drawn away to Nottingham Forest in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
Due to the mid-season break for the World Cup, the scheduling of match rounds in the Carabao Cup is slightly different this year, with third round ties played later than usual, in the week commencing 7 November.
The exact date for our tie, plus ticket news, will follow in due course.
On Sunday, we return to The City Ground for the first time since March, 2005 when we face Forest in the Premier League (4.30pm). On that occasion, we won an FA Cup fifth round replay 3-0. Forest were promoted back into the top flight for the first time since 1998/99 by winning the Championship play-off against Huddersfield at Wembley in May.
The last time we faced Forest was at the same stage of the League Cup at White Hart Lane back in September, 2014. Ryan Mason, Roberto Soldado and Harry Kane were on target that night.
We last played Forest in the Premier League in April, 1999, Steffen Iversen on target in a 1-0 win in N17.
Steve Cooper's men have started their 2022/23 campaign with a defeat at Newcastle, a win at home against West Ham and a draw at Everton on Saturday. They negotiated a tricky second round tie at Grimsby Town with a 3-0 win on Tuesday evening.
