Tottenham Hotspur and AIA Singapore can today announce the launch of Grant A Wish with AIA Better Lives Fund - a charity shirt initiative aimed at raising funds for good causes in Singapore and the Club’s Foundation.

Players will wear special edition shirts, featuring the AIA Better Lives Fund logo, during the upcoming Premier League match against Leicester City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday 1 May.

The match-worn shirts will then be signed and auctioned by the players to raise funds for the AIA Better Lives Fund and Tottenham Hotspur Foundation.

• Team to play in special edition shirts during the Premier League match against Leicester City on Sunday 1 May
• Match-worn shirts to be signed and auctioned to raise money for the AIA Better Lives Fund and Tottenham Hotspur Foundation
• The AIA Better Lives Fund supports two Singapore-based children’s charities, Children’s Wishing Well and the VIVA Foundation
• Tottenham Hotspur Foundation is the Club’s charitable body that delivers life-changing opportunities through sport for local people

As the Global Principal Partner for Tottenham Hotspur, AIA has worked closely with the Club for nearly a decade to support good causes across the Asia-Pacific region, using the power of sport to promote active and healthy lifestyles.

The AIA Better Lives Fund was established to support AIA Singapore’s long-standing charity partners, Children’s Wishing Well and the VIVA Foundation.

Children’s Wishing Well provides a broad range of services for children and youth from disadvantaged backgrounds across Singapore, providing free nutritious meals and supporting educational aspirations through professional qualifications.

VIVA Foundation funds research projects to create advanced treatments to save the lives of children with cancer, curating programmes that offer holistic care for survivors after treatment and enabling better medical facilities.

Funds raised by the charity shirt initiative will also support those living on the Club’s doorstep through the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, which delivers a range of innovative programmes for people across the local community to provide life-changing opportunities through sport.

Donna-Maria Cullen, Executive Director of Tottenham Hotspur and Trustee of the Club’s Foundation, said: “We are extremely proud of how our partnership with AIA continues to benefit the lives of so many, both in the Asia-Pacific region and within our own local communities.

“This is now the fourth occasion in the past seven years that we have partnered on a charity shirt initiative, each time raising vital funds and awareness for good causes through the unique and global platform that a Premier League match provides.

“We are looking forward to continuing our work with AIA in supporting children and families to live healthier, longer and better lives.”

Wong Sze Keed, Chief Executive Officer of AIA Singapore, said: “AIA Singapore remains steadfast in our commitment to build an inclusive Singapore for generations to come. The launch of the ‘Grant a Wish with AIA Better Lives Fund’ initiative underpins our mission in supporting children and families in need, and enabling the greater community to live healthier, longer, better lives.

“We are grateful for the continuous support of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, our long-standing partner who has a shared purpose in giving back to the community. On behalf of AIA Singapore, I would also like to thank all Singaporeans for their generous contributions towards the AIA Better Lives Fund and helping us to realise our mission in securing healthier futures for individuals, families and communities in Singapore.”

Tottenham Hotspur delivers a unique football coaching programme with AIA across Asia, where four members of the Club’s Global Football Development coaching team are based permanently.

Coaches work with players of all levels, nurturing local talent and promoting AIA’s well-being initiatives, identifying talented players and coaches and creating a pathway for them to progress to a professional level.

They also run grassroots coaching sessions and nutritional workshops which have directly engaged with over 100,000 participants across Asia-Pacific since May, 2017.
