April international fixtures for Spurs Women players

Wed 06 April 2022, 11:00|Tottenham Hotspur

A number of members of the Spurs Women squad are on international duty in the next week, which includes a series of key qualifying games ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.

Starting in Europe, Finland duo Tinja-Riikka Korpela and Eveliina Summanen will continue their qualifying campaign for next year's tournament with a double-header against Slovakia and Georgia in UEFA qualifying group A. As will Josie Green in Group I, who has linked up with Wales ahead of clashes with France and Kazakhstan, and Victoria Schnaderbeck in Group D, who is set to lead her national team once and could even earn her 80th cap this week, with two more crucial clashes in her country's bid to reach the prestigious event.

In North America, qualifying for the 2022 CONCACAF W Championship will conclude this international break, and Becky Spencer has linked up with Jamaica who currently sit second in Group C. They trail the Dominican Republic only on goal difference, who they will welcome to Kingston on Tuesday 12 April.

The co-hosts of the 2023 FIFA World Cup, Australia and New Zealand, will take on each other in two friendlies held in Oz and Kyah Simon of the Matildas could come up against her Spurs team-mate, the Football Ferns’ record-appearance maker Ria Percival. Meanwhile, our skipper Shelina Zadorsky has been named in Canada’s squad ahead of two friendlies with Nigeria and Rosella Ayane has been called up for Morocco for fixtures against Gambia and Ghana.

Asmita Ale has headed to Murcia, Spain, for a warm weather training camp with the England Under-23 side, where they will be playing two friendlies against the Netherlands.

Finally, the second phase of the Women’s European Under-19 Championships will get underway this week with England, Belgium, Wales and Iceland meeting at the home of the England teams, St George’s Park. Academy player, Scarlett Williams will be representing Wales in Burton upon Trent - with one spot in the finals available for the four teams.
