Another day, and Antonio Conte is preparing the team for another test in the Premier League.
This time, it’s a first for the Club - our first visit to the new Brentford Community Stadium to take on the in-form Bees in another huge match in the run-in on Saturday evening (5.30pm).
We’ve six games to go and we’re sitting in fourth place, now level on points with Arsenal after their win at Chelsea on Wednesday night. United are three points adrift in sixth having played a game more, West Ham now seventh, five points behind having played a game more. Arsenal host United on Saturday, West Ham go to Chelsea on Sunday.
To have a target and to try to fight for this target gives me, gives the players, a good sensation, good emotion
“It’s another tough game but you know very well, in England, there is not an easy game,” said Antonio. “You have to be prepared very well and we know it will be very tough. We’re talking about a team that is showing they deserve to play in the Premier League. They're playing very well, and they've beaten important teams. It won't be easy for us.”
Indeed, after a sticky run, Brentford have won five of their last six, beating the likes of Chelsea and West Ham to climb to the safety of 12th in the table on 39 points in their debut Premier League campaign.
“They are strong physically, good at set pieces and we have to pay great attention,” added Antonio. “At the same time, we have to try to go there and get the three points. There are only six games to go and every game is very important.”
Asked if he was enjoying the run-in, with all the highs and lows, twists and turns, Antonio replied: “For sure, I’m enjoying this time. To have a target and to try to fight for this target gives me, gives the players, a good sensation, good emotion. When you have an important target, it’s important to manage this moment well.”
