Nuno Espirito Santo promises ‘we’ll be ready’ when we take on Chelsea at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (4.30pm).
It’s been a tough week with injuries and unavailability hampering us against Palace, where we lost our perfect start to the Premier League campaign last Saturday, and Rennes on Thursday, where we fought out a 2-2 draw in our UEFA Europa Conference League opener against Stade Rennais, despite losing both Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura to injury.
Chelsea remain unbeaten in the Premier League with three wins and a draw in four, and began their Champions League defence with a win against Zenit on Tuesday.
We’ll compete. It will be tough, but we’ll be ready for it
“It’s at home, and we’ll have our fans behind us,” Nuno told Spurs TV in Rennes. “We’ll compete. It will be tough, but we’ll be ready for it.
“Chelsea are a very good team, of course, every team in the Premier League is tough. Tonight (Thursday) we proved football becomes harder and harder, because every place you go, teams give everything they have. So, we have to match these situations and try to improve on our quality.
“We are on the way. We want to build and become stronger.”
