First team coaching staff update

Thu 04 November 2021, 15:40|Tottenham Hotspur

We are pleased to confirm the appointments of Cristian Stellini, Ryan Mason, Gianluca Conte, Costantino Coratti, Gian Piero Ventrone and Stefano Bruno to Antonio Conte's coaching staff.

Cristian takes up the role of Assistant Head Coach, having enjoyed an 18-year career as a player in Italy, including spells at Como, Genoa and Bari. A coach since 2010, Cristian joined Antonio's staff at Juventus in 2011/12 and had spells in Genoa's youth system and at Alessandria before joining Antonio again at Internazionale, winning Serie A last season.

Our former midfielder Ryan takes up the role of First Team Coach, having previously worked as our Academy's Head of Player Development and also led the Club as Interim Head Coach for the last seven games of last season. Initially joining us as an eight-year-old, Ryan progressed through our Academy system to make 70 appearances for our first team before departing for Hull City in 2016, subsequently returning to the Academy in a coaching role in 2018 following his injury-enforced early retirement from playing.

Gianluca is Antonio's Technical & Analytics Coach. Antonio's brother also played for Lecce and has been part of Antonio's coaching staff since Bari in 2009, playing his part in title successes at Juventus, Chelsea and Inter Milan. He was also a member of Antonio's staff for the Italian national team between 2014 and 2016.

Antonio brings three Fitness Coaches - Costantino Coratti, Gian Piero Ventrone and Stefano Bruno. Costantino joined Spezia's coaching staff in 2011 and has been with Antonio since his second season at Juventus in 2012/13.

Gian Piero has a wealth of experience, initially taking a fitness/conditioning role at Juventus in 1994/95. He's had spells at Catania, JS Suning (China) and was most recently with Fabio Cannavaro at GZ Evergrande, also in China. He was also assistant manager to Olivier Pantaloni at AC Ajaccio in France.

Stefano began his coaching career at AS Livorno in 2005/06, and was part of Antonio's staff at Bari and Atalanta before spells at Ischia, AC Ajaccio, Catania, Alessandria and Parma. He joined Antonio again at Inter last season.

We can also confirm that Antonio and his coaching staff have received their work permits and will take charge of tonight’s UEFA Europa Conference League group match against Vitesse at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (8pm).

An announcement on the position of First Team Goalkeeper Coach will be made in due course...
