Antonio Conte spared a thought for our travelling supporters after Thursday night’s loss to NS Mura.
Having fallen behind to a fine strike from Tomi Horvat and seen Ryan Sessegnon dismissed for a second yellow card in the first half at Stadion Ljudski vrt, we found a leveller through Harry Kane with 18 minutes remaining and looked good value to push on to win at that stage, against a team that had lost four from four in Europa Conference League Group G.
But as we pressed and pressed in search of a late second goal, disaster struck, as Amadej Marosa broke forward and scored with the last kick of the game, giving Mura a famous win.
Head Coach Antonio gave an honest assessment at full-time, but made a point of thanking the 127 Spurs fans who made the trip to Slovenia to get behind the team.
I’m saying this especially for our fans because it was a pity to have a long journey to watch this game and now they are coming back to London with a bad loss.

“I want to say thanks to them because for sure they didn’t deserve this type of performance.
“It’s a bad result, a bad loss for us and honestly we didn’t expect it. We complicated the game, but we know that there is a lot to work on and especially after this type of game, you know that we need time and we need patience.
“Now it’s time to rebuild, to rebuild something important.”
