Antonio Conte has urged the players to “give more” when we go to Burnley on Sunday.

We return to Premier League action at Turf Moor (kick-off 2pm UK) after a shock late defeat to NS Mura in Europe on Thursday night, where Amadej Marosa scored on the counter with the last kick of the game for the Slovenian side as our 10 men pushed forward in search of our own late winner.

Clearly disappointed with the manner of the defeat, Head Coach Antonio wants to see a reaction as we look to make it six points out of six in the Premier League following last weekend’s 2-1 home victory over Leeds.

Speaking after the Mura defeat, Antonio explained what he’s expecting from our trip to Lancashire: “For us, it’s an important game – like this (against Mura) – because today it was an important game,” he said.

For sure we have to give more in all aspects – tactical aspects, physical aspects and also mentally.

“Now we have two days to recover and to prepare for the game against Burnley and for sure we have to give more in all aspects – tactical aspects, physical aspects and also mentally. We need to give more.

“I know very well what kind of game we expect against Burnley.

“Burnley is a tough game, they play with intensity, they put pressure on, they play a lot of long balls and they are very good in set-pieces, so we have to pay great attention. But in this moment, we all have to think that we have to give more.”

Speaking earlier in the week, Antonio explained how the players will do their homework ahead of the match at Turf Moor.

“Before a game, you have to know everything about your opponent,” he said. “We are studying Burnley. They are working with a really good manager for many, many years, and this is important for them. I know the atmosphere will be hot, but we must be ready, ready to fight and to give everything to try to get the three points.”
