Dilan Markanday has been shortlisted for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for the third time in seven months.

A shining light in our Under-23 set-up, the attacking midfielder scored four goals in as many games for Wayne Burnett's side throughout October, including a sparkling brace in our 3-1 victory at Manchester City and a stoppage-time winner at home to Manchester United.

He also netted in a 4-3 defeat at Crystal Palace at the start of October.

That was all in addition to his senior debut at Vitesse in the UEFA Europa Conference League on 21 October, where he made history as the first ever British Asian – as well as the first player of Indian descent – to play for our men’s first team in a competitive game.

Dilan was previously nominated for the Premier League 2 award in April and August of this year.

Also shortlisted for October's prize are Jamal Baptiste (West Ham United), Anthony Elanga (Manchester United), Ziyad Larkeche (Fulham), Salah-Eddine Oulad M’Hand (Arsenal), Aaron Ramsey (Aston Villa) and Dynel Simeu (Southampton).

The shortlist was determined by the Premier League’s Football Development Panel after club coaches nominated the best performance by an opposition player in each of their matches during last month. The panel will also decide the winner.
