Ryan Mason has confirmed that Japhet Tanganga has suffered an ankle ligament injury.

The young defender was carried off on a stretcher in the closing stages of Wednesday’s defeat to Aston Villa, with Matt Doherty coming on in his place at right-back.

Speaking to Spurs TV after training today (Friday), Interim Head Coach Ryan said: “It’s the ligaments in his ankle so that’s him, he won’t be involved in the last game of the season.

“I’m not sure how many weeks it will be (for him to recover) but it was quite a nasty one.”
