Tue 04 May 2021, 09:00|Tottenham Hotspur
Gareth Bale became the eighth player to hit 50-plus goals for us in the Premier League with his impressive hat-trick against Sheffield United on Sunday.
Sublime, clinical finishes after 35, 61 and 69 minutes added up to goals 49, 50 and 51 in the competition for the Welsh star. Heung-Min Son completed the scoring as we ran out 4-0 winners at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
It was Gareth’s first hat-trick in the Premier League since a 4-0 win at Aston Villa on Boxing Day, 2012. Jermain Defoe was also on target that day at Villa Park and is also on our list of 50-plus Premier League goalscorers. It was the eighth hat-trick of Gareth’s career, his last for Real Madrid against Kashima Antlers in the Club World Cup in December, 2018.
Gareth is also the sixth Welshman to reach 50 goals in the Premier League after Ryan Giggs, Craig Bellamy, Gary Speed, Mark Hughes and John Hartson.
Harry Kane leads the way for us with 164 goals in 238 Premier League matches. Second in our all-time goalscoring list behind Jimmy Greaves (266) with 219 goals, Harry is currently seventh on the Premier League’s all-time list.
