Spurs v Dinamo Zagreb – how to watch, team news, key information

Wed 10 March 2021, 19:38|Tottenham Hotspur

Our UEFA Europa League round of 16 tie with Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb begins on Thursday night with the first leg at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (kick-off 8pm UK).

Dinamo were the unbeaten winners of Group K earlier in the competition – runners-up behind them were Wolfsberger AC, who we defeated 8-1 on aggregate in the round of 32. For their own part, Dinamo beat the Austrian side 1-0 at home and 3-0 away during that phase of the tournament, before progressing past Krasnodar 4-2 on aggregate in the last 32.

They’re top of the table in the Croatian top flight by two points, with a game in hand on the sides below them.

Here’s all the key information you need to know ahead of Thursday’s match...

How will the teams line up?

Joe Rodon and Giovani Lo Celso are unavailable for us.

Defender Joe isn’t eligible to feature in the Europa League, while Jose Mourinho has confirmed that midfielder Giovani suffered back pain while working his way back to fitness following his recent hamstring injury and won’t be able to play on Thursday.

Jose has hinted that he will rotate his side in certain areas from Sunday’s 4-1 home win over Crystal Palace.

Dinamo, meanwhile, are without right-back Sadegh Moharrami through injury, although defensive midfielder Bartol Franjic is available after serving a suspension against Krasnodar last time out in the Europa League.

Teams are able to name up to 12 substitutes each in this competition, of which five may be used.

Who is the referee and what colours will the teams be playing in?

Dutch referee Serdar Gözübüyük will take charge of Thursday's game, with his fellow countrymen Joost van Zuilen and Johan Balder serving as his assistants and Bas Nijhuis as the fourth official.

As usual for a European tie, we’ll be in our all-Lilywhite kit, while Dinamo will play in all dark blue.

Our goalkeeper will play in orange, with Dinamo’s keeper in green.

How can I get the matchday programme?

As usual, printed copies of our official matchday programme are available to order and have delivered direct to your door – Hugo Lloris is the subject of our main feature interview on Thursday night, while there’s a fascinating catch-up with former defender Younes Kaboul regarding what he’s doing away from the game at the moment.

The deadline to order your copy and have it in your hands in time for kick-off has now passed, but you can still order yours online for delivery as soon as possible. Order yours in the post now, priced at the usual £3.50 (P&P costs apply).

What will the weather be like?

It’s forecast to rain in north London for much of the day on Thursday, although it’s expected to have subsided by the time the match gets underway. Temperatures at kick-off time should be around seven degrees.
