
Son and Kane set new record and 100 goals this season – key benchmarks in Palace win

Sunday evening’s 4-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium yielded some incredible goals and three important points to keep our winning momentum rolling – but it also saw some eye-catching landmarks achieved.
Two goals apiece from Gareth Bale and Harry Kane saw us home, with a fast start to the second half important after Christian Benteke’s equaliser for the visitors on the stroke of half-time.

Son and Kane combine to break record – with another one in sight
When Heung-Min Son squared for Harry to tap home his second and our fourth goal of the night 15 minutes from time, a new Premier League record was set.
The free-scoring forwards have now combined to set each other up for 14 goals in the division this season, one more than the 13 achieved by the duo of Alan Shearer and Chris Sutton for Blackburn Rovers in 1994/95.
Overall in the top flight, Harry and Sonny have combined for 34 goals and are now just two shy of the overall all-time Premier League record of 36, set by Chelsea’s Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba.

100 goals scored this season
When Harry converted his second goal to make it 4-1 on Sunday, we brought up the landmark of 100 goals scored so far this season in all competitions.
That means we’re only the second club from Europe’s ‘big five’ leagues to reach that tally in 2020/21, behind German side Bayern Munich, who have scored 106.
