Our Singapore Supporters’ Club has celebrated its 20th anniversary in style, being joined by First Team Assistant and former captain Ledley King for an exclusive virtual event.

Singapore Spurs are one of our 269 Official Supporters’ Clubs worldwide and one of the longest-serving and most engaged.

As a ‘thank you’ for their incredible support, Ledley joined members on a video call hosted from the Club’s training centre.

• Official Supporters’ Club joined by Tottenham Hotspur First Team Assistant and former captain Ledley King.
• Virtual event attended by members of one of the longest serving of the Club’s 269 global fan groups.
• Tottenham Hotspur Chairman Daniel Levy recorded a special video message thanking the fans for their support in this his own 20th year with the Club.
• Singapore Spurs were previously joined by Ledley in person for their 15th anniversary celebrations in 2016.

During the event, fans were treated to a special video message from our Chairman, Daniel Levy, who thanked Singapore Spurs for their incredible support in this, his own 20th year with the Club.

He said: “We have two things in common – our love for Spurs and sharing a 20th anniversary. Congratulations on this amazing achievement and thank you for all your support. We’ve missed you and it’s not the same without fans in our stadium, so we look forward to hopefully seeing you next season.”

The fans then got to hear Ledley’s take on key moments at the Club over the past 20 years, including his own breakthrough into the first team, lifting the League Cup as captain in 2008, the Club’s first Champions League qualification in 2010, his retirement due to injury in 2012 and becoming part of Jose Mourinho’s coaching staff in the present day, having also served as an Ambassador.

As part of his ambassadorial role, Ledley had travelled out to Singapore with a Club delegation for Singapore Spurs’ 15th anniversary celebrations in 2016.

Ledley said: “I’d like to congratulate Singapore Spurs in this, their 20th year. There’s nothing better, whether it's as a player or a coach, to travel out to different countries and see the same levels of support as we enjoy back at home.

“We see the flags in the stadium on matchdays and the faces on the TV screens of our fans around the world, and that’s all we need to know before we take to the pitch. We can’t wait to get you all back in the stadium.”

Wen Kong, Chair of Singapore Spurs, said: “I’d like to thank Ledley for making the time to be with us. It’s been a long journey for us over the past 20 years and most of the original members still remain today. During that time, our membership has more than doubled to around 400.

“Our members are very active and the passion of the fans in Singapore is high. How Spurs perform on the weekend dictates the mood of all our members for the rest of that week! We are really looking forward to being back in the stadium again.”

As part of our pre-season campaign in the summer of 2019, we toured Singapore, defeating Italian giants Juventus 3-2 in a friendly match held at the National Stadium.

During the visit to Singapore, the Club:

• Held a coach education workshop for the Football Association of Singapore’s Youth Development Programme coaches (Under-16-Under-18).
• Celebrated Special Olympics Singapore's Global Day of Inclusion with a football clinic with local youngsters at Bendemeer School.
• Took part in an autograph signing session for fans on Sentosa Island.
• Joined AIA employees, Singapore Football Association personnel, members of the Singapore Spurs, competition winners and participants from the Children’s Wishing Well charity to break a Singapore national record for the time it takes to pass a ball between 100 people.
