Giovani Lo Celso is back, but Jose Mourinho is without Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Heung-Min Son for our UEFA Europa League round of 16 second leg against Dinamo Zagreb on Thursday evening (5.55pm UK).
Pierre picked up a third yellow card in the competition in the first leg and will therefore sit it out suspended. Sonny, meanwhile, misses out after picking up an injury in Sunday’s north London derby, and Joe Rodon is ineligible.
The good news sees Gio return after being sidelined through injury since December.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Wednesday, Jose said: “Gio is a very talented player, good, competitive qualities and of course we’ve missed him for a long time. I don’t think he has 90 minutes in his legs, but he looked very confident in three training sessions he did with the team on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, so I don’t feel any limitations on him. The team needs him because he’s a quality player and as I was saying, he’s very competitive.”
Asked about Harry Kane, Jose added: “Is he going to play tomorrow or is he going to rest? He’s going to play. The game is open, it’s an important game for us, so he plays tomorrow.”
