June international fixtures for our players

Tue 01 June 2021, 12:48|Tottenham Hotspur

Euro 2020 and the Copa America get underway later this month, but there are friendlies and World Cup qualifiers to contend with in the meantime as a busy few weeks for our players on international duty begins.

There's the potential for some of our players to face each other in certain fixtures over the coming weeks, starting on Wednesday when Hugo Lloris and Moussa Sissoko's France host a Wales squad that includes Gareth Bale, Ben Davies and Joe Rodon.

Davinson Sanchez and Colombia then take on Giovani Lo Celso and Juan Foyth's Argentina in a World Cup qualifier in the early hours of next Wednesday (9 June) ahead of their provisional involvement at the Copa America, which will now take place in Brazil.

Later in June, at the Euros, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Denmark will come up against Toby Alderweireld's Belgium.

Elsewhere, young defender Maksim Paskotsi – a regular for our Under-18s this season – has retained his place in Estonia's senior squad for their Baltic Cup campaign and an additional friendly against Finland after being drafted in for their last round of fixtures in March, while Development Squad midfielder Elliot Thorpe has earned his first Under-21 call-up for Wales ahead of their European Under-21 Championship qualifier against Moldova on Friday.
