Troy Parrott scored his first two senior international goals to inspire the Republic of Ireland to a 4-1 win away to Andorra on Thursday evening.

The young striker, who has spent time on loan at Millwall and Ipswich Town this term, started the match along with Club colleague Matt Doherty and, after seeing his side fall behind shortly after half-time, turned the scoreline on its head with two goals in three minutes around the hour mark.

Rounding off a nice piece of individual play by firing in the equaliser from the edge of the box, Troy quickly doubled his tally with a back-post header to put Ireland in command, with Jason Knight and Daryl Horgan later adding their names to the scoresheet.

Troy was substituted eight minutes from time, with Matt completing the full 90 minutes.

Elsewhere on Thursday evening, Toby Alderweireld was part of the Belgium side that was held 1-1 at home by Greece.

The defender started and played the majority of the game, before being substituted in the 82nd minute as the hosts chased an ultimately elusive winner.
