Club Ambassador Ledley King appeared as a special guest today at an Under-12s six-a-side football tournament hosted by Tottenham Hotspur Foundation.

The Spurs Series U12s Tournament is part of the Foundation’s ‘Making Sport a Daily Habit’ programme, which is designed to encourage people who are not usually active to incorporate exercise into their daily routine.

Hosted at Haringey Borough FC, the tournament saw eight teams from across London take part, with boys’ team ELA and girls team Ruislip Clarets Rangers both crowned champions.

Ledley spent the afternoon talking and having photos with participants, as well as hosting the trophy presentation.

The tournament was led by Tottenham Hotspur Women’s former defender, Renee Hector.

Speaking after the event, Renee said: “It was brilliant to see so many people at the tournament today and it was even better to have Ledley in attendance. With restrictions now lifted, this is the perfect opportunity for everyone to get back outdoors and be active, and most importantly have fun. We look forward to welcoming many more participants this year.”

Ledley said: “It was great to be able to attend the Spurs Series Tournament today and see the fantastic work that Tottenham Hotspur Foundation do in the local community. After what has been a challenging year for so many, it was brilliant to see such a strong turnout. Congratulations to all the teams involved and both ELA and Ruislip Clarets Rangers on a thrilling win.”
