Our new intake of Under-18s players took time out of pre-season training last week to enjoy a special tour of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with Ledley King.
As they start out on their journeys into full-time football with us, the youngsters were given a formal introduction to life at Spurs with a look behind the scenes at our world-class home, before heading across to the Club offices at Lilywhite House to meet staff from numerous departments, helping them to gain further insight into our values and principles, and to understand the magnitude of the Club’s on- and off-field operations.
Legendary former captain and Club Ambassador Ledley addressed the group at various points throughout the tour, sharing his invaluable insight into life behind the scenes.
The players were also presented with their own personalised Spurs shirts, which they used for a commemorative pitchside photoshoot to mark the start of their full-time Spurs careers.
Under-18s Coach Stuart Lewis said: “It was a brilliant experience for the players to be shown around the stadium, hear from Ledley and meet the staff – it helped them to feel what the Club is about, understand the history, our principles of work and to see the magnitude of not only the stadium, but the Club’s overall operations, which reach a global audience.
“Ledley’s presence and input on the tour was invaluable. He’s a Club legend and the words of wisdom he shared with the boys, especially when he spoke about the opportunity they’ve got here at one of the best clubs around, were incredible. The richness of his insight was first class and we really appreciate him sharing that with the boys. They loved the whole tour and I could see there was a real sense of excitement and interest around the group while we were there, so it was a day they won’t forget, but also something that we hope will really help to drive them on to succeed in their own careers so that they can hopefully one day play at the stadium themselves.”
Stadium tours are open for all supporters to book now – find out more here.
