Robbie Keane joins us on N17 Live for Liverpool clash
Thu 28 January 2021, 11:25|Tottenham Hotspur
Legendary former striker Robbie Keane is our special guest on N17 Live for this evening's Premier League match against Liverpool at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Join 'Keano' and presenter Ben Haines for our popular matchday show from 7.15pm ahead of the 8pm kick-off. They will go straight into the breaking team news and then analyse the task ahead against the reigning champions.
The Republic of Ireland's record cap (146) and goalscorer (68), Robbie is one of only 18 players to score a century of goals for Spurs since we joined the Football League in 1908, hitting 122 goals in two spells between 2002-2011. League Cup winner in 2008, occasional captain, Robbie was also one of the first goalscorers in our new stadium when he netted for Spurs Legends against Inter back in March, 2019.
Born in Tallaght, Dublin, Robbie moved to England and Wolves just before his 16th birthday, scored on his debut and took off from there. He joined Coventry City and then Inter for £13million at the age of 20. He soon return to England and Leeds United, and then found his home at Spurs in 2002.
He had a brief spell at tonight's opponents Liverpool in 2008/09, but soon returned to Spurs, where he played for another two years before spells at West Ham, Celtic and then a new life in America with LA Galaxy in the MLS. A legend in LA, he scored 104 goals in 165 games for Galaxy, collecting three MLS Cups along the way. He's most recently stepped into coaching with the Republic of Ireland and Middlesbrough, and was back 'home' this time last year when we drew Boro in the FA Cup.
