Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has made quite an impact so far in 2020/21 - and he wants more.
The Danish midfielder is ever-present as we reach the halfway point of the Premier League campaign, starting all 18 matches, and he’s featured in 28 of our 31 games in all competitions.
A true warrior in the key central areas, Pierre, 25, has been an integral part of a team and squad that currently sits fifth in the league, has reached the Carabao Cup Final, the fourth round of the FA Cup and knockout phase of the Europa League.
We’re preparing for another busy week - Wycombe in the FA Cup fourth round on Monday (7.45pm), followed by Premier League encounters against Liverpool at home on Thursday evening (8pm) and Brighton away on Sunday week (31 January, 7.15pm).
Pierre said: “I have to say for the last six months, I look back with joy and with motivation to go forward. I think we’ve done well but what I really take as motivation is that I think we can do better.
“I think this is a nice situation to be in, to have played good football, to have performed well as a team, but still not performed as well as I know we can, every time.
“We have still done as well as we can most times, but not all the time, and that’s the motivation to go forward, to try and be even better all the time, because we are still in the race in every competition we’re part of, and that’s a big statement six months into the season. So, I look forward, and back, with a lot of joy and motivation.
"I’m proud of who I am, proud of what I do, but I want to be better and I have to be better. This is what drives me every day. It’s to become better. I want to, I also have to become better."
