Jose Mourinho is confident Harry Kane will be back to face West Ham in Sunday’s showdown at noon at the London Stadium.

The striker played 90, 60 and 90 minutes in three games back-to-back against West Brom, Everton and City after returning from an ankle injury, so he was rested for our midweek trip to Hungary, where we toppled Austrian side Wolfberger AC 4-1 in the first leg of our UEFA Europa League round of 32 tie.

Asked if Harry would be back to face West Ham, Jose responded: “I believe so, he's an experienced guy that had injuries in the past, he knows his body better than anyone. His feelings were that to play this game (Wolfsberger) could be a risk with the accumulation of minutes after the injury that he had. Of course, myself and the medical department, we agreed with him in giving him this opportunity to take care of his condition, but I believe on Sunday he will be okay and ready.”

Let’s go for this big match against West Ham, knowing that it’s going to be a difficult match, but let’s be positive

Sergio Reguilon looks set to miss out and Giovani Lo Celso remains sidelined. “I think Reguilon next week against Wolfsberger, home match, I think so, but not Gio,” reported Jose. “He’s still a few weeks away. He gives us a lot of quality, a lot of options and we are missing him for quite a long time.”

West Ham are in flying form. They’ve lost just one of their last 10 in the Premier League and sit fifth in the table at the start of the weekend.

Jose added: “I believe that the victory against Wolfsberger brings good feelings, just by flying back the plane will be a different plane than after a defeat, training the same. We managed to rest a few players by not playing 90 minutes, for instance, Sonny, and let’s go for this big match against West Ham, knowing that it’s going to be a difficult match, but let’s be positive.”
