Seb Bassong joins us on N17 Live on Sunday
Fri 03 December 2021, 18:15|Tottenham Hotspur
Sebastien Bassong is special guest on our popular matchday show N17 Live for Sunday’s Premier League clash against Norwich City.
The former centre-back will join presenter Ben Haines, Club commentator Rob Daly and Senior Club Journalist Paul Miles from 1.15pm, ahead of the 2pm kick-off, when we’ll talk all things Spurs, look at Norwich and digest the breaking team news. Seb will later join Ben in the studio for post-match analysis.
Seb has a foot in both camps - he played 71 times for us between 2009-2012 before moving to Carrow Road, where he spent five years, captained the club and made 135 appearances for the Canaries.
Snapped up after a season at Newcastle United on 6 August, 2009, Seb scored on his debut against Liverpool 10 days later, heading home the winner in a thrilling 2-1 win that kick-started our run to fourth place in 2009/10 and Champions League qualification.
Seb scored arguably his most important goal in those Champions League play-offs in August, 2010. Trailing 3-0 inside 30 minutes on Swiss side Young Boys’ artificial surface, the Cameroon international headed home for 3-1 just before half-time. Roman Pavlyuchenko made it 3-2 in the second half and we stormed to a 4-0 win in the second leg at home to make it into the group stages. Who scored our first Champions League goal? Seb Bassong! Now 35, Seb went on to have short spells at Watford, Peterborough United and Volos in Greece before retiring at the end of 2019.
