Want to know more about our Legends? Here goes...

John Pratt

415 appearances, 49 goals, 1969-1980
UEFA Cup winner 1972; League Cup 1973

A one-club man, John is one of only 11 players to make over 400 appearances in all competitions for Spurs, and 10th on our all-time list. A box-to-box midfielder born locally in Hackney, John joined our professional ranks in 1965 before making his debut against Arsenal on 24 March, 1969. He went on to feature in our 1972 UEFA Cup Final success over Wolves and began the 1973 League Cup Final before having to come off due to injury. His replacement, Ralph Coates, scored the winner! Rewarded with a testimonial match in 1978, John made the last of his 415 senior appearances in our colours at Manchester United on 12 April, 1980. He returned to join our coaching staff in 1983, taking his tally to nearly 20 years service.

A Legend Tour with John Pratt is available at 1.30pm on Wednesday 12 January, 2022.

Steve Sedgley

211 appearances, 11 goals, 1989-1994
FA Cup winner, 1991

A hard-working midfielder who captained the team during the final season of his five-year stint at Spurs, Steve played a key role in our 1991 FA Cup triumph, lining-up centrally alongside the mercurial talent of Paul Gascoigne. Capped 11 times by England at Under-21 level, he followed his father Gordon by playing in our youth teams as a schoolboy before joining Coventry City in 1986. 'Sedge' left us for Ipswich Town in 1994 and featured for Wolves before injury forced his retirement in December, 2000. He's a regular member of our matchday hospitality team.

Join Steve Sedgley on a Legend Tour at 1.30pm on Wednesday 19 January, 2022.

Paul Allen

370 appearances, 28 goals, 1985-1993
FA Cup winner, 1991

Famously the youngest player to feature in an FA Cup Final when he lifted the trophy aged 17 years, 256 days against Arsenal for West Ham in 1980, Paul was back at Wembley 11 years later, initially toppling Arsenal again in the semi-final before beating Forest in the final in May, 1991. A tireless midfielder, Paul joined the Allen dynasty to play for Spurs when he followed in the footsteps of his uncle Les (double-winner, 1960/61) and cousin Clive (49 goals in 1986/87). Paul eventually played more than both, racking up 370 appearances until departing for Southampton in 1993. He also played for Luton Town, Stoke City, Swindon Town, Bristol City and Millwall. Another regular on our matchday hospitality team, Paul has most recently worked for the PFA.

A Legend Tour with Paul Allen is available at 1.30pm on Monday 24 January, 2022.

Tony Galvin

273 appearances, 31 goals, 1979-1987
FA Cup winner 1981, 1982; UEFA Cup 1984

Powerful, skilful winger and a key cog as Keith Burkinshaw brought the glory days back in the early 1980s, Tony started both FA Cup Finals and replays as we landed the FA Cup in 1981 and 1982, and then both legs of the UEFA Cup Final in 1984. Spotted playing non-league football for Goole Town in 1978, Tony joined us full-time that summer, made his debut in February, 1979 and was a mainstay, barring injury, for the next eight years. He left for Sheffield Wednesday in 1987, and was soon awarded a testimonial. Capped 29 times by the Republic of Ireland. Still a regular in our Spurs Legends team.

Join Tony Galvin on a Legend Tour at 1.30pm on Monday 31 January, 2022.
