Antonio Conte was impressed with how the players went about their business in the second half of our 3-0 win against Norwich City on Sunday.
Lucas Moura fired home a superb opening goal after 10 minutes, but Norwich competed well in that half, enjoyed spells of possession and we couldn’t capitalise further on that early advantage.
We stepped up a gear in the second half. Davinson Sanchez smashed home from close range on 67 minutes and 10 minutes later, Heung-Min Son finished clinically after Ben Davies’ burst forward.
Speaking pitchside to Spurs TV, Antonio reflected: “After the first half I spoke with the players and said, as we said before the game, this game is not easy and we were seeing that the game was not easy, how we must be prepared, we have to know the way, especially without the ball, to be stronger and to put pressure on in the right way, in the good zones where we should press.
We faced the game in the right way... we created chances, scored goals, the first and third goals were amazing
“We did this very well and then scored two other goals, and we could improve the final result. I want to say that Norwich played a good game, they have a really good manager, I know him. Overall, it’s okay.”
Victory made it three on the trot at home in the Premier League, successive clean sheets and three wins and a draw in Antonio’s four league matches so far.
“I thought Norwich tried to create problems but, at the same time, we faced the game in the right way,” he added. “We were good to suffer when there was a situation when Norwich pushed, we created chances, scored goals, the first and third goals were amazing goals, then another goal from a set piece and that’s good, because in England, the details are very important and to be strong defensively. At the same time, when you have a corner or a free-kick, you have to try to be strong and try to score.”
