Wolves v Spurs – how to follow, team news, key information

Sat 21 August 2021, 20:14|Tottenham Hotspur

Nuno Espirito Santo makes a swift return to his former club on Sunday as we take on Wolverhampton Wanderers in our first away game of the new Premier League season.

Nuno left Molineux after four successful years at the end of last term and was appointed our new Head Coach over the summer, guiding us to a 1-0 home win over reigning champions Manchester City last weekend in his first competitive game in charge.

Ahead of the 2pm kick-off, here’s all you need to know...

How can I watch the game?

Our match has not been selected for broadcast in the UK, but you can still follow the action if you’re not watching it unfold in person at Molineux.

Our live Match Centre here on tottenhamhotspur.com and the Spurs Official app is loaded with live text and audio commentary, goal alerts and stats on tap, meaning you won’t miss a kick.

You can also follow our coverage on Twitter @SpursOfficial.

We’ll be first to bring you video highlights here on the website and the app, two hours after the game.

Supporters who are attending the match can find all the latest travel information here.

If you’re supporting us from overseas, check out the worldwide broadcast listings to see if the match is being shown in your area.

How will the teams line up?

Nuno is expected to make wholesale changes again following the midweek defeat to Pacos de Ferreira in the first leg of our UEFA Europa Conference League play-off.

Joe Rodon and Cameron Carter-Vickers will miss out through injury, although Nuno confirmed their fellow centre-back, new signing Cristian Romero, is okay after his involvement in Portugal on Thursday night.

Midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has also been confirmed to miss the game.

For the hosts, defenders Yerson Mosquera and Willy Boly are sidelined with respective hamstring problems, while striker Raul Jimenez could make his first competitive appearance at Molineux in nine months after returning from a significant head injury in his side’s 1-0 defeat to Leicester City last weekend.

Who is the referee and what colours will the teams be playing in?

Sunday’s referee will be Stuart Attwell, with Dan Cook and Marc Perry as his assistants and Peter Bankes in place as the fourth official.

Martin Atkinson and assistant James Mainwaring will be on VAR duty.

Wolves will play in old gold shirts, black shorts and old gold socks, with their keeper in a white and yellow kit.

We’ll be wearing our new away kit for the first time in a Premier League game – the black with coloured patterned shirts are complemented by black shorts and socks. Our goalkeeper will be in all green.

What will the weather be like?

It’s forecast to be cloudy with a gentle breeze in Wolverhampton on Sunday, with temperatures expected to be around 20 degrees when the game starts.
