Kyah Simon completes move

We are delighted to announce the signing of Kyah Simon.

The forward has signed a contract with the Club until 2023 subject to work permit clearance and will wear the number 17 shirt.

The 30-year-old joins after a season with PSV Eindhoven, where she made seven appearances and scored twice as the Dutch side finished second in the Eredivisie Vrouwen.

Prior to joining PSV, Kyah spent eight years gaining experience in Australia’s W-League and the NWSL in the United States with Sydney FC, Boston Breakers, Melbourne City and Houston Dash.

The versatile attacker is recognised as one of the most decorated players in Australia’s W-League history with three Championships, two Premierships, a Golden Boot, Young Player of the Year award and Julie Dolan medal.

She wrote herself into the history books at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics when she became the first indigenous Australian player to reach 100 international caps and helped Australia to finish fourth at the tournament.

Kyah overcame a career-threatening injury to make her international debut for the Matildas at just 16 years old in an 8-1 win over Hong Kong.

Since making her debut, Kyah has gone on to play at two FIFA Women’s World Cups, three Olympics and three AFC Women’s Asian Cups.

An 18-year-old Kyah took Australia’s match winning penalty to secure the country’s first ever AFC Women’s Asian Cup in 2010.

She scored both goals in the Matildas’ 2-1 victory over Norway in 2011 to send them through to the FIFA Women’s World Cup quarter-finals.

At the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, she was once again on the scoresheet as her goal against Brazil set the Matildas on course to their first win in a knockout game at a World Cup.
