Fri 06 August 2021, 12:45|Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur will be trialing the use of the NHS COVID Pass to verify the vaccination or COVID status of supporters attending our men’s and women’s matches against Arsenal on Sunday.
A reminder that the men’s match in The Mind Series kicks-off at 2pm, with Tottenham Hotspur Women taking on the Gunners at 4.45pm.
Club to trial NHS COVID Pass on Sunday
• All attending adult supporters on Sunday will be asked to present an NHS COVID Pass, via the NHS App, to enter the stadium
• Pass will confirm whether supporters are either fully vaccinated or have received a negative test result no more than 48 hours prior to kick-off
• It also further ensures the safety and comfort of our supporters, players and staff as we begin hosting capacity crowds for the first time since March, 2020
• U18s are exempt and will only require a valid match ticket for entry
All adult supporters attending the Arsenal double-header will be required to present their NHS COVID Pass, generated by the NHS App, on their mobile device as they enter the stadium to confirm they are either fully vaccinated or have received a negative COVID-19 test result no more than 48 hours prior to kick-off.
Please note, if you have not yet received both required COVID-19 jabs, you will be required to take either a PCR or rapid lateral flow test.
The trial will further ensure the safety and comfort of our supporters, players and staff as we begin hosting capacity crowds for the first time since March, 2020.
Full details on presenting the NHS COVID Pass and a step-by-step guide to entering the stadium can be found below.
The Club shall be using the NHS COVID Pass Verifier to scan NHS COVID Passes. The verifier application does not store or transmit personal data.
NHS App
Supporters vaccinated in England will need to have this app on their smartphones in order to attend the match and display their NHS COVID Pass. Information for supporters who are unvaccinated or were not vaccinated in England can be found below.
Please note, the NHS App is separate from the NHS COVID-19 contact tracing app:
The NHS App is available on Apple and Android devices and can be downloaded using the links below:
If you have not already downloaded and registered the NHS App, please do so as soon as is convenient to ensure you are fully prepared.
Support on registering the NHS App can be found here.
To register with the NHS App, you may need the postcode of the GP surgery at which you are registered or your NHS Number, which is a 10-digit number and unique to you. An NHS Number can be found on any letter or document received from the NHS, including prescriptions, test results and hospital referral or appointment letters. An NHS Number can also be found online via the NHS.UK website.
Entering the stadium with your NHS COVID Pass
NHS COVID Passes will be checked by a steward between the initial ticket check at the bottom of the stairs leading to our podiums and ahead of arrival at our turnstiles. This will only add one step to the existing stadium entry process that supporters are familiar with and will allow us to control the flow of supporters into the stadium as the additional check is made.
Supporters are asked to follow these steps to ensure smooth entry to the stadium:
Prior to matchday
REQUIRED: Download and register the NHS App and generate your NHS COVID Pass, which can be accessed from the homepage and by selecting the 'Domestic' option. Your pass is valid for 30 days if you have been fully vaccinated for at least two weeks, but is refreshed for a further thirty days every time you access the pass in the NHS App. Your pass is valid for 48 hours following a negative rapid lateral flow or PCR test.
IF NOT FULLY VACCINATED FOR AT LEAST TWO WEEKS: If you have not been fully vaccinated for at least two weeks, take a rapid lateral flow test no more than 48 hours prior to kick-off and register your result online here. Once a negative result has been registered, your NHS COVID Pass will appear in your NHS App.
APPLE DEVICE: If you have an Apple device, select the ‘Add to Apple Wallet’ option below the QR Code to add your NHS COVID Pass to your Apple Wallet, meaning your pass can be quickly accessed for scanning.
ANDROID DEVICE: If you have an Android device, use the NHS App to screengrab, download or print a copy of your NHS COVID Pass QR Code to ensure you are able to present it quickly.
REQUIRED: Please ensure that when adding your NHS COVID Pass to your Apple Wallet, taking a screengrab or printing a copy of your pass, the stated expiry date is later than the kick-off time of 2pm on 8 August so that you will be permitted entry to the stadium.
Matchday
REQUIRED: Following your digital ticket being scanned at the stadium perimeter, proceed toward the airport style security arches where your NHS COVID Pass will be scanned.
APPLE DEVICE: If you have an Apple device and have added your NHS COVID Pass to your Apple Wallet, open your Apple Wallet and select your NHS COVID Pass for scanning. If you have not added it to your Apple Wallet, have your screengrabbed, downloaded, or printed NHS COVID Pass ready for inspection. Please do not open the NHS App as the loading time may delay the checking of your pass.
ANDROID DEVICE: If you have an Android device, have your screengrabbed, downloaded, or printed NHS COVID Pass ready for inspection. Please do not open the NHS App as the loading time may delay the checking of your pass.
REQUIRED: After successfully scanning your NHS COVID Pass, proceed to your turnstile and scan your digital ticket for touch free entry to the stadium.

Accessibility
Supporters using Accessible Entrances to the stadium will have their NHS COVID Pass scanned at their entrance. Personal Assistants must also present their NHS COVID Pass for scanning.
Premium
Premium Members and their guests will be required to present their NHS Covid Pass upon arrival at their entrance.
If you do not download the NHS App or your confirmation is not via the NHS App
Please note that there may be a delay in entering the stadium for anyone presenting proof that has not been generated via the NHS App. This is so that we can carry out the required checks. We would therefore encourage you to arrive as early as possible in order to allow plenty of time to enter the stadium.
Supporters vaccinated in England
Supporters vaccinated in England who have not downloaded the NHS App to confirm their vaccination status can present official letters or emails from the NHS.
Supporters vaccinated outside England
Only supporters who have been fully vaccinated in England can generate their NHS COVID Pass from within the NHS App and add it to their Apple Wallet (Apple devices only). They can also generate a pass by registering a negative PCR or lateral flow test in the app no more than 48 hours prior to kick-off.
Supporters vaccinated outside England can show their vaccine status provided by their country’s governing health body. This can either be in the form of their local NHS COVID Pass equivalent, letter or email. This includes supporters from Scotland, Northern Ireland or Wales, who can however still use the NHS App to confirm their rapid lateral flow test (LFT) or PCR results no more than 48 hours prior to kick-off.
Unvaccinated supporters
Supporters from England, Scotland, Northern Ireland or Wales who have not downloaded the NHS App should take a rapid lateral flow test no more than 48 hours prior to kick-off and register their result here. The email or text message received confirming a negative test result can be presented instead of an NHS COVID Pass.
Supporters outside England, Scotland, Northern Ireland or Wales can present one of the following formal documents providing they have tested negative for COVID-19 no more than 48 hours prior to kick-off:
- Negative PCR test result required as part of their travel documentation or permission to travel
- Negative PCR test result from any testing centre or pharmacy
Supporters under the age of 18
Supporters under 18 will not be required to display an NHS COVID Pass. A valid ticket will be sufficient for entry.
Parking
Supporters parking within the stadium for the match will have their NHS COVID Pass scanned as they enter the car park.
Face masks and coverings
While it is no longer mandatory, we would advise fans to wear a face mask or covering on entry to and exit from the stadium, when queueing and on concourses, except when you are eating or drinking. Our staff will also be wearing face coverings at all times for your safety.
Matchday staff
All matchday staff will also be required to present their NHS COVID Pass before being permitted to begin work.
