Tottenham Hotspur is proud to partner with HSBC, the Club’s Official Banking Partner, to deliver free Financial Fitness sessions to young people in the local community.
After a challenging year, the importance of financial education for young people has never been more important as they start to make life choices and plan their careers.
HSBC delivered its first session at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier this month to 30 students from the London Academy of Excellence Tottenham (LAET). LAET is a state funded Sixth Form delivered on the Club’s stadium campus, giving the brightest local students the best chance to access the country’s top Universities.
Sponsored by Tottenham Hotspur and Highgate School, LAE Tottenham was recently named The Sunday Times Sixth Form College of the Year, with an incredible 66 per cent of its students winning places at Russell Group Universities following last year’s A-Level results, including six at Oxford and five at Cambridge.
The session covered topics including banking essentials, spending choices, how to kick start your finances and budgeting for university.
In addition, HSBC delivered sessions to students from two local colleges as part of an event hosted by the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation – the Club’s own charitable arm that is dedicated to creating-life changing opportunities for people across its local community.
One participant commented: “Thank you to HSBC for a really informative and interesting session. It was great to have the opportunity to learn about credit cards, banking and how to take care of my money in the future.”
