We are delighted to now offer wheelchair accessible climbs on The Dare Skywalk throughout the year.
Booked on a bespoke basis and normally taking place as the first climb of the day, wheelchair users who are seeking an adventure are now able to scale the height of our iconic stadium.
The thrills of The Dare Skywalk now accessible for all
• The Dare Skywalk at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is now available to wheelchair users.
• Wheelchair accessible climbs on The Dare Skywalk form part of the Club’s wider work to deliver fully inclusive facilities.
• This week, members of the public became the first to take on a wheelchair accessible climb.
The adrenaline-pumping experience lasts up to two-and-a-half hours, with guests using a padded wheelchair to venture out to the famous Golden Cockerel – 46.8 metres above the football pitch.
Kris Aves became the first member of the public to take on The Dare Skywalk wheelchair climb earlier this week. Speaking after the climb, Kris said: “The Dare Skywalk wheelchair climb was an amazing experience. The climb guides were brilliant and were on hand to share interesting facts and history about Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Being the first member of the public to take on The Dare Skywalk wheelchair climb was a great feeling – it’s a day I won’t forget!”
Wheelchair accessible climbs on The Dare Skywalk form part of the Club’s wider work to deliver fully inclusive facilities. Our stadium is fully compliant with the Accessible Stadia Guide and exceeds standards in many areas. In addition to dedicated accessible entrances, the stadium has accessible seating and wheelchair spaces in all stands. It also includes three Changing Places facilities for fans with more complex requirements, which have more space and equipment than standard accessible toilets.
Located in the stadium’s North Stand, our Sensory Suite offers a comfortable and calming environment for supporters on the autistic spectrum or with sensory impairment conditions to watch matches. The room is complete with a tactile wall, a bubble tube and several other pieces of sensory equipment.
Lisa Beresford-Hines, Head of HR at Tottenham Hotspur, said: “Inclusion and diversity is at the heart of everything we do as a Club. The launch of wheelchair accessible climbs on The Dare Skywalk demonstrates our continued commitment to ensuring our facilities are accessible for all.”
As an outdoor attraction, The Dare Skywalk re-opened on Monday 12 April and has received ‘Good To Go’ certification from Visit Britain, adhering to all health and safety guidelines in relation to COVID-19.
Guests booking a wheelchair accessible climb can bring a complimentary personal assistant and have up to eight friends and family join them on the climb (tickets for all start from £39pp).
