Jose Mourinho reports that Heung-Min Son returned to full training on Friday and is back in the frame to face Newcastle on Sunday (2.05pm).
The South Korean forward picked up an injury in the early stages of the north London derby on 14 March, forcing him out of our last two games against Dinamo Zagreb and Aston Villa, and out of international duty with South Korea.
“Sonny’s good, and he will be selected,” stated Jose in his pre-Newcastle press conference after training on Friday. “He trained with the team fully for the first time this morning. Yesterday, he was coming to do partial exercises, not the complete session.
“This morning was the first day he did it. Last week, he didn’t train at all, so completely impossible for him to play internationals. It would be impossible for him to play if the game was yesterday. This time was a good time for him to recover from injury.”
