Jose’s latest on Harry Kane’s injury at Goodison

Fri 16 April 2021, 23:22|Tottenham Hotspur

Jose Mourinho said it was “too early” to know more about Harry Kane’s injury late in Friday evening’s 2-2 draw at Everton.

The striker was at his clinical best in front of goal to score both of our goals at Goodison Park. That took him to 21 goals in the Premier League and 31 in all competitions this season.

However, Harry was forced off late in the game after an awkward landing following an aerial challenge and was last seen limping around the pitch back to the dressing room.

Asked if he had any news, Jose told us: “No, not really. It’s too early. Even Harry doesn’t know much, he just had that negative feeling that brought him out of the game. I believe probably Sunday is the day to have a different view and to try to anticipate what can happen next week.”

Jose earlier told Sky Sports: "I think it's too early to say something. For him to leave the pitch, 2-2, with a couple of minutes to go, is obviously because he felt something, but let me be optimistic and believe that he has time to recover. Let me be optimistic and believe that it's nothing serious."
