Jose Mourinho reports that Eric Dier is a doubt to face West Ham on Sunday, and that he will make a late decision on Gareth Bale’s involvement.

Eric has started all four of our Premier League matches in central defence but his 100 per cent record is now in doubt after picking up a muscle injury on international duty with England.

Speaking after training on Friday, Jose was asked if our international players had returned safely and whether or not Gareth was ready to be included into the squad after working on his fitness since arriving on a season-long loan from Real Madrid last month.

Jose said: “In relation to everyone coming back well, no. Dier didn’t come back well, and, probably, will not be in the squad for Sunday. He has a muscular problem that may keep him out of this match.

“Gareth being ready to be in the squad is a decision we are going to make tomorrow (Saturday). There is still one day to think, to reflect on what is best for the team, what is best for him, and we will arrive at a good conclusion.”

Meanwhile, Jose confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Gio Lo Celso and Japhet Tanganga will miss out through injury.

Jose also spoke about Harry Kane. “Harry arrived (back at Spurs) not injured, he arrived in condition to start the match on Sunday, and that is the most important thing for me,” he said. “If you want to know, Harry Kane starts and (Carlos) Vinicius will be on the bench on Sunday.”
